Synopsis
Haunted by a wartime helicopter crash that killed his crew, former U.S. Army helicopter pilot Jim Taylor came to Manila to escape the ghosts of war. After the disastrous mission in Afghanistan that ended his career, he swore never to fly again and now manages a civilian call center far from the battlefield.
β
But when a mysterious virus erupts in the Philippines—transforming the infected into violent, fast-moving killers—the city descends into chaos within hours. Streets become war zones. Communications collapse. Entire neighborhoods are overrun.
β
As survivors fight to stay alive inside a high-rise condominium, Jim is pulled back into action by CIA operative Carl Kovak, who believes the outbreak originated from a secret jungle laboratory tied to a rogue scientist conducting illegal biological experiments.
β
The only hope may be an experimental antivirus hidden deep within infected territory. Joined by Marine Sergeant Sharnita Stewart—Jim’s lifelong friend and the woman he never stopped loving—a small team of soldiers and civilians must battle through collapsing streets, desperate survivors, and swarming infected in a race against time.
β
To stop the outbreak, Jim must do the one thing he vowed he would never do again—climb back into the cockpit and fly a deadly mission through a collapsing city where one mistake could doom them all. As the infection spreads beyond Manila, Jim must confront the guilt he’s carried for years and take responsibility for the lives depending on him… before the world follows the city into darkness.
β
Combining grounded military realism with relentless survival horror, Apocalypse Manila delivers a large-scale outbreak thriller through the lens of deeply personal redemption.
